My name is Erica Bright and I am a school social worker for the New Haven School District, I am a member of the educational team comprised of teachers, administrators, staff and parents.  School social workers promote and support students’ academic and social success by providing specialized services. I apply appropriate social work methods in situations affecting the student's educational process.  Services are designed to assist families, students, and educational professionals in providing quality interventions, which allow students to receive an appropriate public education. School social workers are a strong link between home, school, and the community.

I was born and raised in New Haven, and attended New Haven public schools. I am a proud graduate of Hillhouse High School, class of 1998! Immediately following high school I went to college, and somehow found myself in the military after a couple of years. I am a U.S. veteran and have served overseas in Iraq for one and a half years. After my return I went back to school to finish my education. I graduated from Albertus Magnus College in 2015, and finished my education at Quinnipiac University in 2017.

I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, music, and eating! I am a foodie at heart and love to try different foods and drinks. When I am not occupied with my family; I enjoy volunteering my time and services to the communities in Connecticut.
