Title I
KING ROBINSON TITLE I PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY
Title I regulations require that each school served under Title I jointly develop with and distribute to parents of participating children, a written parental involvement policy agreed on by parents that describes the requirements outlined in Title I law section 1118 and those listed below. It is the policy of K/R to promote maximum parent involvement in a student's education. K/R recognizes the important role parents play in their children's education and realizes that school success increases as parents become more involved in the daily education of their children. K/R recognizes that district, parents and community have a mutual responsibility to ensure the success of our students.
King/Robinson will implement the required school parental involvement components as follows:
- K/R will involve parents in an organized ongoing and timely way. This includes developing, reviewing, evaluating and improving the school-wide Title I program, the Parent Involvement Policy, and the school-Parent Compact.
- K/R will hold a flexible number of parent meetings at varying times that will provide information regarding curriculum, state and local standards, IB policies and guidelines and before and after school programs
- K/R will provide parents of all students with timely information by flyers, Title I programs and a rights to know brochure, ParentLink, Email, Facebook, Parent Meetings, Parent Chats, School Website, and Newsletters
- K/R will provide parents with a copy of a Title I Parents Right to Know Brochure, description and explanation of school curriculum, services, IB information, and Parent Involvement Policy.
- In addition to the parent involvement policy, said school will develop the Title I required school-parent compact as one of its components.
- K/R will periodically review and update its Parental involvement Policy annually to meet the changing needs of parents and the school through leadership/SPMT and PTO meetings.

Title I Information:
WHAT IS TITLE I? Title I is an education program funded by the federal government. Money is given to school districts to help children who are falling behind academically in school. Title I programs are held at school to help with reading, science and math.
WHO IS IT FOR? The amount of money given to each school depends on the number of low-income families it has.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? Title I funds can look like teachers, coaches, tutors, after school programs, computers, books and other school equipment that reinforces the regular school curriculum and help children catch up academically.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT: Under the No Child Left Behind Act, involving parents is a priority. The law makes provisions for parents to be included in communications about student academic learning, play a part in decision making, and other school activities. Title I schools are required to involve parents in very specific ways.
