School-Based Health Center

King/Robinson School is fortunate to have an on-site Health Center with a wide range of services including:

Treatment of acute injuries and illnesses
Routine check-ups and physical exams
Immunizations
Prescription and dispensing of medications
Laboratory testing
Nutrition counseling and weight management
Crisis intervention
Individual, family, and group counseling
Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases
Referral and follow-up for specialty care

School-Based Health Centers are committed to treating each child in a thorough, confidential manner and offering services in the best interest of the individual. SBHC staff shares a developmental approach to pediatric and adolescent health, respecting the age, cultural values and family life of every student. All children enrolled in the health center are entitled to receive services regardless of income or health insurance coverage.

Mission

It is our mission to help students learn about health practices that promote their health and well-being. Each SBHC emphasizes prevention and early identification and treatment of physical and mental health conditions. Consequently, staff is continually engaging students in the classroom with health education presentations, individual and group health activities, health screenings and various other health initiatives conducted in the schools. Equally important is the accessibility to our clinical services for treatment of acute and management of chronic illnesses, such as asthma and diabetes.
